About the Presenter:
Mark E. Schafer, Ph.D. is currently Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of R&D for Sound Surgical Technologies, and President of Sonic Tech, Inc. He has over 25 years of medical industry experience, specifically in ultrasound technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (Drexel University), an M.S. in Acoustics (Pennsylvania State University) and an S.B in Electrical Engineering (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). He is currently Vice-President of the Ultrasonic Industry Association (UIA), and has served on the Board of Governors of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM); he been Chairman of the AIUM Technical Standards Committee, and is a Fellow of the AIUM. He has also served as Adjunct Research faculty at Drexel University. He is named inventor on 13 U.S. Patents.
